The Massachusetts General Hospital Cancer Center (part of the Mass General Brigham Cancer Institute) is an internationally recognised leader in cancer care, clinical innovation, and scientific discovery. As the principal teaching hospital of Harvard Medical School, it combines world-class clinical expertise with one of the largest hospital-based cancer research programmes in the United States.

It is designated a Comprehensive Cancer Center by the US National Cancer Institute (NCI) through the Dana-Farber/Harvard Cancer Center consortium. It is consistently ranked by U.S. News & World Report among the leading cancer hospitals in the United States.

The Krantz Family Center for Cancer Research is its basic and translational research engine, with more than 50 independent laboratories studying cancer biology, cell therapy, and tumour genetics. The Termeer Center for Targeted Therapies is a dedicated clinical research unit for early-phase (Phase I) trials, bringing new targeted drugs and molecular therapies to patients quickly.

A pioneer of routine molecular tumour profiling, it sequences tissue samples to identify specific actionable mutations.

Circulating tumour cell (CTC) technology — it co-developed the groundbreaking CTC-chip microfluidic device to isolate and analyse rare living cancer cells directly from a routine blood draw.

It comprises 23 integrated clinical programmes covering complex solid tumours, haematological malignancies, neuro-oncology, and rare sarcomas.
