Overview

A Grade I public provincial hospital with a history of more than 120 years, 1,100-1,400 beds and about 3,000 visits per day.

The Oncology Department was established in November 2007 (15 beds, 3 doctors) and after 16 years has expanded to more than 65 beds with 11 treating doctors, on the 12th floor of block A.

It has invested in a radiotherapy linear accelerator, a 3.0 Tesla MRI and a 256-slice CT since the new block opened (19 May 2015, a public-private partnership with CotecGroup/CotecLand, VND 1,300 billion of investment).

Scale: 1,100-1,400 beds (depending on the source and date), about 1,594 staff (352 doctors, 609 nurses). Oncology Department: from 15 beds/3 doctors (2007) to more than 65 beds/11 treating doctors, 25 staff.

JCI or ISO 15189 accreditation could not be verified for this hospital (note: the recent ISO 15189:2022 belongs to Bệnh viện Đồng Nai -2, a different facility, and does not apply to Dong Nai General Hospital).

Strengths and key treatments

Multimodal treatment: chemotherapy (conventional regimens, targeted drugs, immunotherapy), surgery, and palliative care/pain control.

Strengths in surgery for breast, thyroid, salivary gland and tongue cancer, and for gynaecological cancers.

A radiotherapy linear accelerator, 3.0 Tesla MRI and 256-slice CT (since 2015, under the public-private partnership).

The team includes Dr Lê Đức Nhân (MSc, Level II specialist) - Head of the Oncology Department.
