American International Hospital (AIH)

Opened on 19 October 2018, it is presented as the first international hospital in Vietnam to apply US standards throughout, from design and construction to operations and care processes.

The facility is at 6 Bắc Nam 3, An Phú Ward, Ho Chi Minh City, with 1 basement level and 10 storeys above ground, 5 operating theatres and 120 inpatient beds (at the time of opening).

It works with Johns Hopkins Medicine International (USA) on case consultation and professional training, and has a cooperation agreement with Raffles Hospital (Singapore).

It achieved JCI accreditation at its very first survey in November 2022, meeting 13 standard chapters, 282 standards and more than 1,200 measurable elements.

The CancerSCREEN Dx™ liquid biopsy test screens early for more than 110 cancer types through ctDNA signals, with overall sensitivity of 83.0% (breast 96.8%, liver 94.5%, lung 93.3%, colorectal 86.7%) and specificity of 95.4%.

The Oncology and General Surgery Centre integrates medical oncology, screening and cancer surgery in a single unit.

AI is applied to predict the tissue of origin of a tumour and to monitor treatment response and minimal residual disease through the CancerSCREEN Dx platform.

Operating theatre and inpatient infrastructure designed to US hospital standards from the outset.

The team includes Prof. Dr Saijo Yasuo (Japan) - Senior Physician at the AIH Oncology Centre, formerly Professor and Head of Medical Oncology at Niigata University Hospital and former President of the Japanese Society of Medical Oncology, with more than 40 years of experience.
